tr!jo - Tabea Debus (recorder), Lea Rahel Bader (baroque cello & viola da gamba) and Johannes Lang (harpsichord) - discovers and arranges exciting new repertoire.

Their programmes include arrangements and transcriptions of music emphasising the ensemble as a whole. The flexibility of choice of instruments enables the group to experiment with a variety of musical styles. Since 2017 the group is regularly joined by harpsichordist Daniel Trumbull.

tr!jo won audience awards and second prizes  at the 2nd Berlin Bach Competition in 2015 and the XVIII. Biagio-Marini Competition in 2017. All musicians have completed their studies at the conservatoires of Berlin, Frankfurt and London and have received numerous awards. These include prizes at the 2012 International Bach Competition in Leipzig, the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, the Broadwood Horniman Harpsichord Competition in London and the Johann Heinrich Schmelzer competition in Melk, Austria.

They have also received scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.

tr!jo has performed in venues throughout Europe, including the Konzerthaus Vienna, St. John’s Smith Square in London and the Schlosskapelle Köthen.
